Last weekend at Kirkcaldy Art Club our Christmas Art and Craft Fair took place. There were many types of art and craft items on offer, ie paintings, ceramics, jewellery, glass, cards, notebooks, and also soft furnishings, clothing and beautiful Christmas decorations. It was busy both days with people buying items for presents and also for themselves. The lovely home baked cakes drew people to the tea and coffee tables. It was a very successful event and worth all the hard work put in by the craft group for organising it and producing many of the items on offer. Thank you to everyone involved and to our regular visitors and also to all the other people who came to visit. Most classes have finished now for this term, apart from two classes, who missed classes due to planned holidays, illness, etc. The final event of this term is the Christmas party, on Friday 6th December.
The new term will begin on Monday 6th January 2020. There are still some spaces in the Monday printing class and the Wednesday evening painting class. The fees for these classes are from the starting date.
Kirkcaldy Art Club is taking part in Kirkcaldy's Star Trail. There are 30 stars on display in shops and businesses around Kirkcaldy Town Centre, some decorated by local school children, others by artists and ours has been decorated by many members donating a little piece of art work. All this work has been made into a collage on the star (on both sides). Our star is hanging in the Lotus Lounge, 304 High Street, Kirkcaldy. Maps are available from the Mercat Centre if you would like to follow the trail.
Any one wanting to find out about spaces in painting classes in the new year can email me on kirkcaldyartclub@outlook.com or by telephone on 01592 267641.
