Due to the ongoing situation in the world we are living in Kirkcaldy Art Club is now closed, like many venues. All 'Spring into Summer' classes have had to be cancelled. This was sad as so many people had signed up for them, including people who are not members, keen to try out pottery, printing or painting. Also the exhibition of work done by the printing class, planned to take place at the Harbourmaster's House is delayed. We have still to hear when this will take place.
As we approach the end of this term we are now busy organising the next programme of classes for the 'Spring into Summer' term which starts in early April. On Sunday 23rd February Daniel Scottow led a workshop, 'Dramatic Skies'. This was developed in a landscape but the major focus was on the sky, which took up most of the canvas / board. Participants worked with big brushes, also fan brushes, exploring ways to extend drying times, building up layers of cloud until they became three dimensional.
