First demo and workshop coming soon

Our new members at Kirkcaldy Art Club are now settling into their classes and getting used to the art club routine. On Wednesday mornings, 10-12 noon, there is an untutored craft group. Often members share their skills and sometimes there is a demo or workshop led by an invited visiting crafter. Also on Wednesdays, 2-4pm, there is an untutored painting class when people come along and work on their paintings. Soon, our first event will take place. Classes have started

The new session of classes have started this week. Welcome back to our returning members and we are pleased to welcome our new members. We hope you all enjoy being part of Kirkcaldy Art Club and all that it offers, not only classes, but also a comprehensive programme of demonstrations and workshops, led by visiting artists and sometimes our own tutors. The HotPot Kids class, for Primary aged children has started up once again. We’re sure they will have fun while they learn new techniques. New this term is a printing class led by Dorothy Black. A succesful Doors Open

Last Sunday, 8th September, it was very busy at Kirkcaldy Art Club, as we were participating in Doors Open Days. It was a beautiful sunny day and our first visitors arrived 15 minutes before opening time at 10.45 ! In fact one visitor assisted with hanging up the Doors Open Day banner. From then on there was a steady flow of visitors, including whole families. In all 110 adults and 30 children came in to see the building, see our lovely pottery, view an exhibition of member's work and enjoyed our coffee, tea and magnificent home baked cakes. Getting ready for Doors Open

This has been a busy week at Kirkcaldy Art Club. On Monday afternoon and evening, and Tuesday evening, many people came to enrol for classes at the club. There are still a few spaces in classes for anyone interested in painting and printing, however all the pottery classes are now full. It is still possible to add your name to a waiting list for a pottery place. On Thursday and Friday preparations were being made for 'Doors Open' on this coming Sunday, 8th May, 11am-4pm. Doors Open is a national event and also part of European Heritage Days.
