This has been a busy week at Kirkcaldy Art Club. On Monday afternoon and evening, and Tuesday evening, many people came to enrol for classes at the club. There are still a few spaces in classes for anyone interested in painting and printing, however all the pottery classes are now full. It is still possible to add your name to a waiting list for a pottery place.
On Thursday and Friday preparations were being made for 'Doors Open' on this coming Sunday, 8th May, 11am-4pm. Doors Open is a national event and also part of European Heritage Days. We look forward to visitors who are touring the many venues across Fife, and also people out exploring Dysart and the Coastal Path. There will be an exhibition of members' work, including paintings, pottery, jewellery, glass, cards and other craft items.
In the pottery there will be activities for children and in the upstairs painting studio there will be tea, coffee and home baking - something for everyone.
The following week, beginning from Monday 16th September, the new term begins. We welcome back previous members and look forward to all our new members and also the children from Hot Pot Kids Class - the artists of the future. The craft group will be meeting on Wednesday mornings, 10 am - 12 noon and the untutored painting session will be meeting on Wednesday afternoons, 2-4pm.
