Art in the harbour

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 18th and 19th June, our final summer term classes took place around Dysart Harbour, 'Art at the Harbour'. Bill Bruce had a full house for this two day course. It was glorious weather, if a little windy. The sea sparkled, the tide came in and the fulmars flew in and out of their nests in the cliff. It was a real treat to spend days in such a beautiful, peaceful, yet busy harbour. Bill demonstrated how to turn a sketch into a delicate watercolour and then supported us individually to produce our own work. It was also great to catch up with so many club members over lunch. Following this week life will be much quieter in Hot Pot Wynd as all our summer term class

Our last week of classes

Last weekend on Saturday 15th June local artist, Irene Thomson, led a sketching / painting class at Lower Largo. The weather was quite good letting the six people taking part to work hard producing their sketches and paintings of the area. This week the final summer class takes place at Dysart Harbour. 'Art at the Harbour' will be led by another local artist, Bill Bruce, on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th June, 10am- 3pm. These classes are now full. Participants include art club members and also some from two other art groups, one from Kirkcaldy and the other from Glenrothes. Painting in Lower Largo

This week, on Monday 10th June, the children's class, Hot Pot Kids, had its last class for this session. We look forward to many of them returning in September. This weekend, on Saturday 15th June, Irene Thomson, Kirkcaldy artist and club tutor, will be leading an outdoor sketching / painting class in lower Largo, a pretty coastal village. A successful Raku weekend

Summer term classes this week included our first outdoor painting/ sketching class on Saturday 1st June. Irene Thomson, local artist and club tutor, led this class in the picturesque village of Falkland. The weather was lovely, warm and still. The class included club members and also non members and all enjoyed finding interesting places to draw and paint, Falkland Palace of course, but also little cottages, garden gates covered in leaves and interesting wynds. Many of the group also enjoyed the coffee and lunch venues too.
