Art in the harbour

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 18th and 19th June, our final summer term classes took place around Dysart Harbour, 'Art at the Harbour'. Bill Bruce had a full house for this two day course. It was glorious weather, if a little windy. The sea sparkled, the tide came in and the fulmars flew in and out of their nests in the cliff. It was a real treat to spend days in such a beautiful, peaceful, yet busy harbour. Bill demonstrated how to turn a sketch into a delicate watercolour and then supported us individually to produce our own work. It was also great to catch up with so many club members over lunch.

Following this week life will be much quieter in Hot Pot Wynd as all our summer term classes have come to an end. They have been very varied this year and much enjoyed, a six week extension for pottery classes and the Tuesday afternoon and evening classes, a printing class, an 'Arty Adventure' class which explored mixed media, a Raku firing weekend and four outdoor sketching and painting classes. Several participants were not club members, enjoying a chance to try out these topics as taster sessions, and perhaps will come back to the art club in September to join and enrol for the next session, 2019 - 2020.
