First demo and workshop coming soon

Our new members at Kirkcaldy Art Club are now settling into their classes and getting used to the art club routine.

On Wednesday mornings, 10-12 noon, there is an untutored craft group. Often members share their skills and sometimes there is a demo or workshop led by an invited visiting crafter.

Also on Wednesdays, 2-4pm, there is an untutored painting class when people come along and work on their paintings.

Soon, our first event will take place. On Sunday 6th October 2-4pm Simon Ward, an internationally renowned ceramicist who has extensive experience of producing and exhibiting ceramics in the UK, Europe and the Far East. He will demonstrate throwing and handbuilding an assemblage of forms to make vessels. Most recently he also exhibited in the famous Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London.

On Sunday 13th October, in the pottery, 1-4 pm Irene Coulthard, one of our pottery tutors, will lead a workshop in 'Mishima and Sgraffito'.

This will be followed a week later on Sunday 20th October, by a painting workshop led by Alan Stephens, an artist based in St. Andrews, 'Painting water - rivers or seas', using oils.
