Up next: our Art & Craft fair

Last weekend, on Saturday 2nd November, Irene Coulthard led a second workshop in 'Mishima and Sgraffito' for people who couldn't get a place at the previous workshop. Once again Irene guided participants through each stage with passion and enthusiasm. This involved tracing designs onto the prepared clay, to incising, then adding the underglaze and cleaning it up afterwards. Everyone gained valuable insight into the importance of ensuring the steps are carried out at the correct time as dryness levels are key to the success This was much enjoyed by participants and they look forward to seeing their work once it has been fired.

Pat Bray's Life Drawing workshop on Sunday 10th November has unfortunately had to be cancelled but this will be rescheduled for a future date.

Our next major event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 23rd and 24th November 11am - 4pm. The Christmas Art and Craft Fair will offer a wide range of work all produced by Art Club members, including ceramics, paintings, jewellery, glass, cards, notebooks and many other craft items. This is an opportunity to see work done by the craft group, but also by members of painting and pottery classes, and also members who are not in classes, all unique handmade items that could be a special Christmas gift for someone. As always coffee, tea and our incredible cakes will be on offer.
