Once again Kirkcaldy Art Club is having another busy week. With some of the summer term classes nearing an end members of the pottery classes are busy finishing of items to be glazed and fired, either in the club kilns or to be done in the oil drums outdoors, over the Raku weekend. Also members of the Tuesday afternoon and evening classes continue to work on their paintings, while some in the evening class are trying out making jewellery. It is week three of the printing class, led by Dorothy Black, and participants are working on various forms of printing, including relief work and roller printing using the mangle. Vicky Coull's painting class ended this week, having provided opportunities for participants to use various materials to provide texture in paintings. Meanwhile, on Wednesday mornings the craft group is still ongoing, and also the untutored session still continues on Wednesday afternoons. The children's class is also ongoing on Monday afternoons, except for the Monday holidays. The next summer term class will be led by May Snaddon, over two days, Monday 27th and Thursday 30th May, 10 am - 3 pm both days. Participants will explore the use of colour in painting, either with acrylics or oils, - 'Painting with the wrong colours'. The fee for this is £18 for both days. Irene Thomson will lead two outdoor painting / sketching classes. The first will take place on Saturday 1st June, 10 am-3 pm, 'Painting / sketching in Falkland'. The fee for this class is £9. Irene's next class, 'Painting / sketching in Lower Largo' will take place on Saturday 15th June, 10am - 3pm. Again the fee for this is £9. The final summer term classes take place on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th June, 10am-3pm. 'Art at the Harbour' led by Bill Bruce, will take place at Dysart Harbour. The fee for this will be £9 for each day.
