Summer school is here

This week our summer term began. On Sunday 14th Heather Gilbert repeated her workshop, 'Printing on Clay' for those members who didn't manage to get a place the first time. Once again this was much enjoyed. From Monday all four pottery classes began. Some new members are learning the basics of handbuilding and using the wheel, while some people develop their own work and others work on pieces to be fired outdoors during the Raku weekend. The Tuesday afternoon and evening painting classes also began. There are still a few places in the afternoon class but the Tuesday evening class is now full. Next week two new classes will begin for four weeks. A printing class led by Fife artist, Dorothy Black, will take place on Monday mornings, 10am - 12.30. There is one space left in this class. Later in the week, Cupar based artist, Vicky Coull will lead a painting class, exploring mixed media, using either acrylics or watercolour, silk thread and lace, etc to provide texture. There are a few spaces in this class if anyone is interested in taking painting one step further. All classes are suitable to use as 'taster sessions', ie to try out printing and/ or painting without having to be a member. Further information about classes this term can be found on our website, kirkcaldyartclub.co.uk or on our Facebook page or from Morag Allan, on 01592 267641.
