Kirkcaldy Art Club's Annual Exhibition began with an Open Weekend, on 23rd and 24th March. It was very busy over the weekend with many people and families visiting the art club. In the pottery children were using clay to make 'monsters', tiles and other creations and also making cards for Mother's Day and Easter. In the painting studio many people enjoyed the tombola and tea, coffee and home baked cakes. Meanwhile paintings, pottery, glass, jewellery and many other items were admired and also bought. Bill, May, Irene and Heather also demonstrated their skills and techniques in watercolour and acrylics and chatted to visitors about their work. The exhibition continues until Saturday 30th March but will close at 2 pm. Several people asked about classes and were pleased to hear about a range of classes planned for the summer term and signed up for some of them. You do not need to take out a membership for these classes and 'beginners' are very welcome. They are like taster sessions, offering people an opportunity to try pottery, painting, sketching and printing. Details of these classes can be found on our website
kirkcaldyartclub.co.uk, and other information and photographs can be seen on our Facebook page, and information is also available from Morag Allan on 01592 267641. Our children's class will begin again soon and enrolment for Hot Pot Kid is on Monday 1st April, 5-6 pm. The fee is £30 for six weeks and includes tuition and all materials.
