Another successful Christmas fair

Last Saturday and Sunday, 24th and 25th November, Kirkcaldy Art Club held its annual Christmas Art and Craft Fair. It was the best ever, with so many people coming to visit. The craft items on display were of a very high standard and complemented by lovely ceramics, paintings and textiles. Well done to all our members who submitted their work, and a big thank you to all our visitors who made many purchases, and also enjoyed tea, coffee and home baking. Classes have now finished for this term and class members can enjoy a well earned break. Our Tuesday afternoon tutor, Catherine Lindow, is leaving to start a new post in Edinburgh and we wish her all the best and thank her for all her input and challenges! Rosalind Crawford will be our new tutor and we all look forward to her joining us, to tutor the Tuesday afternoon class. Our next challenge is to start a children's class. Last year and this year some members provided art activities for children in Kirkcaldy Galleries, Templehall Library and the Adam Smith Centre. At these sessions many parents asked if Kirkcaldy Art Club offered a children's class and , as a result, we are going to do this in the new year. The 'Hot Pot Kids Art' will run for 10 weeks on Monday evenings, 5-6 pm, starting on Monday 14th January, until ,Monday 18th March. The class will be tutored by Hazel McLoud. There are 10 places available and enrolment will take place on Monday 10th December in Kirkcaldy Art Club's premises in Hot Pot Wynd, Dysart, KY1 2TQ. The fee for the 10 weeks is £60. Should more than 10 children wish to join, a waiting list will be made for the second session we hope to hold after Easter.
