This has been the final week of several summer school classes. The Tuesday afternoon class, led by Catherine Lindow, have sketched in the old Kinghorn Town Hall, Kirkcaldy Galleries, the art club pottery (full of many interesting objects including scary gargoyles, and the Ravenscraig Allotments. Participants now have a lot of material to develop into paintings. In the pottery, tutors, Heather Gilbert, Alistair Landrock and Jenny Rae have guided and supported experienced participants and some new class members through new and familiar techniques in throwing, handbuilding and Raku to produce and glaze so many varied pieces of work over the six weeks, which, no doubt will be treasured. This will be followed up on Saturday and Sunday, 2nd and 3rd June when Raku items will be fired outdoors in an oil drum. This coming weekend, Saturday 26th May, local artist, Irene Thomson will lead an outdoor drawing / painting class at picturesque Pittenweem, starting at 10 am. Hopefully the weather will remain good. The following weekend, on Saturday 2nd June Irene will lead another outdoor painting class in the garden at Glassmount House, starting at 1.pm , Again there are many areas to choose from to paint, each one different and each one stunning. The final summer school class will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, 12th and 13th June, 10 am until 3 pm. This, too, is an outdoor drawing/painting class at and around Dysart Harbour. This will be led by local artist, Bill Bruce, who will encourage and support everyone, as he always does. There are some places left on both days. People can choose either day or both. This class is £8 for each day. Anyone interested can get more information from Morag Allan on 01592 267641.
