This week, at Kirkcaldy Art Club, our 'summer school classes' began. These are classes in pottery and painting in the summer term and any spaces are offered to non members to try out painting or pottery. The painting classes are all quite varied, including outdoor sketching and painting. On Tuesday morning our first printing class began, tutored by Colin Beaumont. All participants are keen to do this, some to learn a new skill, and others to take their present skills on a bit further. Colin is a well known artist and printmaker living in Fife and he is really keen to tutor this class. Also on Tuesday, the afternoon class, tutored by Catherine Lindow, returned to develop work done in the previous term, and will hopefully get enough good weather to work outdoors. A few new people have joined this class. Hopefully they will enjoy this opportunity to try out sketching and painting and perhaps might come back in September to join the art club. The craft group and untutored painting continues and all four pottery classes started this week too, also with some new members trying out handbuilt pottery, etc while others are working on Raku. We would like to welcome Alistair Landrock who is tutoring the Monday evening pottery class. Next week, on Monday and Thursday, 10 am-3 pm, May Snaddon will lead her painting challenge, 'Two Paintings in Two Days' . This class is almost full now, with many people who are hoping to achieve this! There is one place left in this class.
