News from Hot Pot Wynd

This has been a better week at Kirkcaldy Art Club. The previous week, as a result of wintry weather, we had to cancel some classes and also Jenny Rae's workshop last Sunday. Jenny's workshop will be rescheduled for another date. Kirkcaldy Galleries, too, were closed for a while, causing the set up of our exhibition to be delayed. However it finally opened to the public earlier this week. On Saturday and Sunday visitors to our annual exhibition will also see some of our members demonstrating their skills and techniques. Later this week, on Sunday 11th March, 1-4 pm, Susan Forsyth was to repeat her workshop, 'Painting a seascape, using oils and a palette knife'. However Susan has had to withdraw from this for family reasons. This will be rescheduled early in the new session. On Saturday and Sunday , 17th and 18th, March, 11 am - 4 pm, Kirkcaldy Art Club will be hosting our Open Weekend. On display will be paintings, framed and unframed, ceramics, glass, jewellery, cards and other craft items. There will be activities for children in the pottery and tea, coffee and home baking in the painting studio, - something for everyone. Meanwhile planning for summer term classes are being finalised. These classes are open to non members, and offer a chance to try something new.
