Last Sunday at Kirkcaldy Art Club Susan Forsyth led a workshop in 'Developing a painting in oils, using a palette knife'. Many people, including Susan, travelled quite a distance to get there, despite a forecast of even more snow. Susan took people through the basics of oil painting and also using a palette knife. She set a comfortable pace, putting across her techniques in an easy to understand way. Her encouragement and enthusiasm gave confidence to many people new to this, and answered all questions with clarity. Everyone also appreciated her individual support. This workshop was enjoyed and very much appreciated by all participants.
This coming Sunday, 28th January, 2-4 pm, we will have our first daytime demonstration by St Andrews based artist Alan Stephens. Alan is a highly respected artist whose paintings include seascapes, landscapes and portraits. This demo is free to all members and does not need to be booked in advance. On Sunday 4th February, 1-4 pm Jenny Rae, one of our tutors, will lead a workshop in 'Garden Gargoyle Planters.
