Bill Bruce

Bill is a local amateur artist and a member of Kirkcaldy Art Club.

He has been painting watercolours for 10 years, starting when he retired from work as a tutor at Fife College. Since then he has been improving his style of painting and gaining knowledge from many local professional artists.

He is inspired by the local Fife harbours from Dysart to Crail in the East Neuk where there are many different styles of boats due to the differing activities within the harbours. He feels watercolours work well with the subject matter.  He also enjoys painting Castles and buildings of Historic interest.

The last few years Bill has been running a succesfull class for Kirkcaldy Art Club in Dysart harbour, which is aptly named Art in the Harbour. Some photos from last year's session can be found here.

May Snaddon

May was born and brought up in Fife but lived and worked in and around Edinburgh for a number of years after graduating in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art. She returned to Fife in 2013 and feels very much at home here again.

Living and working here again has also reawakened interest in the local land and seascapes.

She works in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics and watercolour. If there was ever a Desert Island Paint Equipment programme, she would though choose oils as they are her favourite medium.

Inspiration for her paintings comes from many sources but she particularly enjoys working outdoors.

Recent exhibitions include Edinburgh Art Fair 2010 to 2016 for Hanover Fine Arts and The Laurel Gallery Christmas Exhibition 2016

May teaches our Monday afternoon and Thursday morning classes.
